Cut VAT for gyms
For many men, the gym is one of the few places they feel free to talk. I will give gym members their VAT back through a mayoral rebate.
Why this matters
The gym is where so many Londoners stay healthy and look out for each other. For many men, it is one of the few places where they feel free to talk openly with friends about their problems.
As Mayor, I will introduce a mayoral VAT rebate on gym memberships: members apply, and get the VAT back. Making it cheaper to go to the gym supports physical wellbeing, and it is a practical step to support men's mental health.
