Why this matters

London is crying out for more homes. Last year, work started on just 5,000.

The London Plan sets the rules for development across the capital, and the current one runs to more than 500 pages. As Mayor, I will replace it with a document of no more than 30 pages. It will keep only the rules London truly needs and tear up the ones that stop developers building the homes Londoners want to see built.

Build more homes and housing becomes cheaper for everyone.
